Genelec 8040B Active Two-Way 6.5″ Studio Monitor

The 8040B Active Two-Way 6.5″ Studio Monitor from Genelec is designed to deliver precise and accurate sound reproduction in a compact form, ideal for a variety of professional audio environments. Its die-cast aluminum enclosure reduces distortion, while the Directivity Controlled Waveguide ensures consistent audio performance both on and off axis.

This monitor is equipped with Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) technology, which activates the speaker upon detecting an audio signal and switches to Standby Mode after inactivity, conserving energy. The 8040B includes a 90-watt amplifier for the high frequency 3/4″ tweeter and a separate 90-watt amplifier for the 6.5″ woofer, with enhanced bass response courtesy of a rear-facing reflex port. It also supports the addition of a Genelec subwoofer for extended frequency monitoring.

The Iso-Pod table stand, which comes with the monitor, helps to isolate it from vibrations and allows for adjustable tilting. You can mount it either vertically or horizontally, adapting to various setups. The 8040B is versatile, fitting well in near-field studio monitoring, control rooms, editing suites, and multimedia entertainment systems.

Additional features include rear-facing tone controls for environment optimization, threaded holes for various mounting brackets, and more available mounting accessories. The monitor also comes with active crossover filters, driver unit protection circuitry, and full magnetic shielding.
